“If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen”

God's Plan of Salvation

God is Love

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16 (KJV)

Making a way

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romas 5:8 (KJV)

Eternal Life

But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23b (KJV)

Accepting the call to preach

As a preacher

Accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior in the early 90's, my Faith opened many doors as I accepted the call to Ministry in a Music Leadership role. I continued studying the Bible and learning about God’s plan for my life, doing my best to fully trust in Him. God opened the doors to follow Him by using the gift of music, including orchestras, ensembles, youth music development, and serving as the worship leader.

After more than twenty (20) years in this position, I found how God had a deeper plan for my life and found the doors opened again! I was called as a Preacher January 2022. God continued to bless me as my first sermon was on the radio in Rockmart Georgia just 1 week later. Since then, God continues to provide opportunities to Preach the Word as God continues to use my talents and gifts towards music ministry opportunities in my home church.

Ministry with my Wife

Favorite Hymn

I would have to say, one of my favorite Hymns is, "Blessed Assurance". Just knowing we are able to have an amazing life story, serving God! I really like verse 2:

Perfect submission, perfect delight.
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight.
Angels descending bring from above.
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love

Our Favorite Scripture

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
John 10:9-11 (KJV)

Music Ministry: Praising and Worshiping

God gave me such a passion for music,
and uses it to inspire and encourage!

From my earliest memories, my family seemed to always enjoy standing around the piano and sharing music styles. My mother was our church pianist in first church. I recall her talents and gifts encouraging our church to sing for the Lord. She also gave me my first solo on the organ, playing Away in a Manger, for our Christmas service.

From then on I was hooked on Gospel Muisc. I found out later in life how my family loved to sing and share as well. Check out this recording from my Grandmother singing, "I wont have to Cross Jordan Alone".

As God opened the doors, I found myself working hard to learn and understand music. I started playing the Viola and Violin at 9, while also learning more about the piano. As life happened, I took on more opportunities with Violin. But things come full circle as I began to follow in my mother's footsteps writing music and encouraging our church by becoming our church pianist.

I love the Lord and all He's done for me and my family. From the deire and passion to share the gospel to helping our church members with meaningful songs they want to sing in service, the heart of serving is what drives me.

Music Ministry: Song Writing

Jesus Cares

Blake Sargent Ministries ORIGINAL

This song was inspired by the phone call on Mother's Day 2022 finding out about my mom's final battle with cancer. I walked in to the church and hit the altar. My church family all stopped and we prayed at the altar.

"you come inside, and try to hide, and hope that no one sees. You enter to the altar, and fall on bended knee..."

Joint effort with my mom, Phyllis Kay Anderson, the piano part always kept me interested in this song! One of the songs she wrote in her younger years, this has been in our family since the 70's. This song is already becoming a blessing as God is using it to encourage those around me.

Stand Up

When God tells you to go and to do, He will provide a way. This upbeat song that brings a smile to my face in rehearsals as I look back at what God does when He tells me to make a move!

Conviction - How does God help us grow?
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Get out of Neutral
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Never the wrong time to do the right thing!
Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

God does NOT hate the Sinner
These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

When bitterness turns sweet
Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

Safe with Jesus
God loved us so much that He gave his son to die for us. We knew we were safe when we accepted Him for our salvation, but do we feel safe to give him our burdens, our addictions, our sorrows, or anything else keeping us from having daily walk and fellowship with him?

Reliance or Defiance?
When we lean on God in how we talk, walk, and behave, we are able to show Love the way God intended. We learn to wait on the Lord and His timing for events in our lives. This allows us to live fulfilling and meaningful lives

Knowing Him!
Christianity, when watered down, loses its transformative power—but it’s something we can all grow out of. The Bible serves as our guide, teaching us how to navigate life’s challenges through daily reading and application of its truths. Many profess to know the Word, yet they interpret and apply Scripture in ways never intended by God. To remain effective Christians, we must commit to deep and intentional study of His Word. As we do, our hearts will be stirred to pray without ceasing, serve without boasting, and love thoughtfully—actions that reflect the essence of true faith.

Service
Forgiveness is not just an attitude—it requires action. It challenges us to let go of resentment, heal from wounds, and extend grace even when it feels impossible. When forgiveness seems out of reach, we must turn to God for help, trusting that His strength can guide us where our own fails. And when words feel too heavy to speak to those who have hurt us, prayer becomes our refuge. Through prayer, we can find peace, wisdom, and the courage to move forward in love.
